Capsule bunk bed
Blast off into 2020
Capsule is the latest upcoming release from Casa Kids. Combining design elements from past and present pieces, Capsule opens a door to future design experiments by adding curved edges along the bed. Deriving its name from its pill-shaped form, this bed was created as an abstract habitat meant to inspire imaginative play. Designer and Founder of Casa Kids, Roberto Gil draws inspiration from exploratory ships. He says “we spend a lot of our time in bed, I wanted to make a space that could be re-envisioned many times for various adventures...I think of Capsule as a submarine or spaceship”. A perforated headboard and footboard, inspired by Jean Prouve, act as a porthole for peering into the worlds created by its inhabitants. A color accented ladder reminiscent of industrial engineering sits on the footboard for an unobstructed frontal view of the rounded frame.
Capsule stands at just 64” tall making the bed ideal for small rooms with low ceilings. The standard Casa Kids continuous mattress support hides bedding from the top bunk for a clean and minimal look. The capsule is convertible, at any point the bed can be split into two twin beds, an added convenience for parents looking for function and versatility.
